Osborn Consulting Inc. (OCI) team members’ award-winning design of the Bainbridge Island Farmer’s Market was developed to be a flexible space to accommodate multiple uses, such as the farmers market, event overflow parking, and seasonal outdoor performances. By incorporating sustainable features such as a ‘grass pave’ system the central lawn is also a drivable surface that withstands vehicle weight, while providing a park-like setting that includes an underdrain system that holds, cleans, and delays storm water discharge during heavy rains. The farmers market is the forecourt for the existing performing art’s building and City hall. It is now one of the most popular green spaces in Winslow.
