OCI is under contract to provide stormwater and professional services to the Natural Resources Division for the City of Redmond. OCI is working with the City on Capital Improvement Projects (CIP), such as stream/habitat protection or improvement, fisheries enhancement, streambank stabilization or erosion repair, small and large regional stormwater conveyance and water quality facilities, detention ponds, water quality treatment, small neighborhood drainage projects, and design and abandonment of infiltration systems.
To date OCI has completed sixteen task orders which include GSI sidewalk drainage projects, pipe replacement projects, a flow splitter modification project, pond retrofits, and Peter’s Creek Access Road Removal project. Many task orders include several sites bundled into one set of documents. Future project tasks may include planning and design for small public works projects; computer-aided design (CAD) drafting; planning level studies to determine location, costs and feasibility of construction of small and large regional stormwater conveyance and water quality facilities; and preparing engineered plans, specifications and bid documents.

Since receiving her PhD in Civil & Environmental Engineering, Maria has been working on a variety of water resources projects. Her experience includes modeling of groundwater flow and contaminant transport, stormwater hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, runoff calculations, conveyance sizing, flow control and treatment facility design, and TESC design and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP). She is familiar with the Ecology Stormwater Management Manual for Western Washington and the WSDOT Hydraulics and Highway Runoff Manuals. Maria has knowledge in use of FEFLOW, MGSFlood, WWHM, HEC-RAS, MicroStation and InRoads Suite, Civil3D, GeoStudio Suite, and ArcGIS.

Maria enjoys spending time with her husband and two cats, baking, taking wildlife pictures, and hiking in the mountains. Whenever she gets the chance, she also loves visiting her family in Greece.
