Audrie Starsy, Surface Water Program Manager, City of Newcastle

Project: Mile Post Pipe Repair Project (City of Newcastle On-Call Services)

“The Osborn Consulting team effectively designed the Mile Post Pipe Repair project for the City of Newcastle. The existing stormwater pipe had been crushed crossing under a rockery and was difficult to access due to narrow easements, large trees, and steep slopes above the rockery. The proposed improvements addressed flooding on private parcels and previous maintenance issues. I appreciate Osborn Consulting’s thoroughness as well as their ability to complete this work in a timely and cost effective matter to ensure this project was completed successfully.”

Jay Rood, Seattle Parks and Recreation Capital Projects Coordinator for Virgil Flame Park

Seattle Parks and Recreation, Virgil Flame Park

“CDC [now OCI’s Landscape Architecture and Urban Design Group] has and continues to perform at a very high professional level in all aspects of this City of Seattle Parks and Recreation improvement project. CDC is by far my best consultant team, providing effective communication and coordination at all stages of the project; energetic engagement and positive interaction with community – leading successful public meetings, workshops and even a Twitter event; responsive and quality design and construction documentation (plans, specifications and cost estimating – especially with Skatespot technical elements); and prompt and accurate reporting. I could not have asked for a more prepared, initiative driven and enthusiastic design team.  I will definitely be working with them again.”

John Featherstone, City of Shoreline Project Manager, City of Shoreline

Project: City of Shoreline Storm Repair Program

“Osborn Consulting has provided the City of Shoreline with a full spectrum of engineering services for stormwater pipe repairs, ranging from analysis of condition assessments through final design and construction support. I have been impressed by their ability to provide accurate, complete, and well thought-out deliverables in a timely manner. They were very responsive in incorporating experience-based feedback into pipe repair prioritization methods developed over multiple rounds of condition assessment and repair projects; this prioritization framework will be used for years to come and ensures repairs will be made efficiently and  in the order of greatest need.”

Keat Garman, Member of Birch Bay Watershed and Aquatic Resources Management (BBWARM) District, Whatcom County

Project: Birch Bay Watershed CIP Prioritization and Preliminary Design

“I am a member of the Citizen Advisory Board of the Birch Bay Watershed and Aquatic Resources Management District, a sub-flood zone district of Whatcom County, WA. We recently retained the Osborn Consulting Group and Tarelle Osborn to complete the preliminary engineering for several capital improvement projects that will improve flooding in the district. I have found Ms. Osborn to be not only competent in her work, but also willing to listen carefully to my own and other citizens’ input with respect to these projects, and to invite us to accompany her on field investigations of them. I highly recommend this company for similar work in other areas of the state.”

Eric Gilmore, City of Shoreline Project Manager, City of Shoreline

Project: Meridian Park Restoration Feasibility Study

“You did a great job of asking questions and giving us insight of what was possible on our site and then giving us direction of which way to head. Things have gone really smoothly. There have been no hiccups or surprises, which is a nice thing and I really appreciate.”

Kari Chennault, Surface Water Program Engineer, City of Marysville

“I was very fortunate that Laura Ruppert P.E. was my contact engineer for the update to our Surface Water Comprehensive Plan. I really appreciated her prompt responses to my inquiries and always felt like she addressed all my issues and concerns in the perfect amount of detail. Sometimes just being available to answer the phone and talk through a project issue means more than you realize. When we reviewed the final document, I felt like Laura had listened to my concerns and addressed them in the final document.”

Kraig Olason, Senior Planner Whatcom County Public Works, Whatcom County

Project: Birch Bay Watershed CIP Prioritization and Preliminary Design

“Whatcom County Public Works Stormwater Division, assisting the Birch Bay Watershed and Aquatic Resources Management (BBWARM) District, retained the services of Osborn Consulting to assist the Advisory Committee of BBWARM to prioritize capital improvement projects. Upon adoption of a funding resolution to initiate the stormwater program in Birch Bay, the newly formed Advisory Committee (AC) set about identifying capital improvement projects to construct. It was determined by the AC that additional criteria would be helpful as would greater site specific information about the projects that were included in the Comprehensive Stormwater Plan prepared by CH2M Hill. Osborn Consulting was selected to provide the required analysis and ranking assistance. Presentations to the AC were provided by Osborn Consulting and project design was reviewed with the Public Works Department. Osborn Consulting is doing a good job for BBWARM and Whatcom County on this project. I am very pleased with the work we have received.”

Steve Friddle, Director of Community Planning and Development, City of Olympia

Project: Olympia Mixed Use Project

“On the Olympia Mixed Use Project, the Engineering plan reviewers appreciated your work in two areas. You are very knowledgeable and efficient in working with us on developing, working on issues and working on getting them on plans. Secondly, the depiction and the accuracy of the work that you did really diminished the amount of work we needed to do and it was very helpful. Our review of your work was just stellar. It was a real pleasure to work with you, and you helped make our jobs easier. We liked both the quality and the efficiency in which you preformed your work. We appreciated your work and look forward to working with you on other projects. I also did a little Q and A around about some of the technical aspects and you delivered a highly glowing report. What we thought of your quality plans is in the public hearing record.”
