This terraced site is designed to educate kids about natural processes through a series of sustainable design elements. Downspout rainwater flow is expressed in a runnel system in an outdoor classroom; porous pavement infiltrates stormwater; rain gardens manage parking lot runoff, and the playground incorporates raised garden plots among the climbing structures to bring children in contact with growing food on a daily basis.
