On Wednesday, July 5 2017, OCI was presented with an award at the ASCE Seattle Chapter’s Local Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement (LOCEA) award ceremony. The award was for our project with Seattle Parks and Recreation at Golden Gardens Park, where the OCI team replaced a failing stairway and drainage system.
Robert Parish, Project Manager for the Golden Gardens Stairway and Drainage Renovations Project, presented at the ASCE Seattle Section award ceremony. He showcased the unique features of the project, including the reinforced, ADA-compliant stairway and how the design replaced portions of the failing drainage system beneath the stairs while also maintaining the historic open channel system enjoyed by the public. You can read more about this landmark project and view photos of the constructed stairway by clicking here.
We are honored by this award and appreciate the ASCE Seattle Section recognizing the important civil engineering projects in our region. More information about this award program can be found on their website.
