Celebrating our Graduation from the Washington State DBE Program

A Journey of Growth and Opportunity

We are thrilled to announce that Osborn Consulting has officially graduated from the Washington State Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program! This achievement marks a significant milestone for our firm, as well as for the DBE program itself. The DBE program has been crucial in enhancing opportunities for businesses like ours to work with various public agencies, from local governments to state organizations.

Our journey with the DBE program has been nothing short of transformative. Over the past 20 years, it has served as a cornerstone in shaping our growth. Early in our firm’s history, the program helped open doors for us to join project teams, and enabled us to showcase the value that our team brings to projects aimed at improving our communities and the environment.

During this time, we expanded our team, primed more projects, and created opportunities for new employee owners. This strategic growth has set Osborn up for long-term sustainability. As a result, we have now exceeded the requirements for DBE certification.

Graduating from the DBE program is a rare accomplishment, and we are extremely proud of this achievement. “It is a rarity for a firm to graduate from the DBE program due to organic growth, and this achievement is something to be celebrated,” said Tarelle Osborn, our President and Founder. “We are immensely grateful for the opportunities and support provided by the DBE program, the agencies that have adopted DBE goals, and teaming partners who embrace diversity on their teams. Their support has been integral to our development and success.”

As we move forward, we remain committed to partnering with DBE and WMBE firms. One of the benefits of the state program is how it contributes to building capacity by supporting the growth of smaller firms. The AEC industry is in desperate need of more talented designers, planners, and scientists. Working with DBE/WMBE firms and increasing their exposure to new clients and new projects is critically important to our communities, infrastructure, and the next generation of STEM leaders. Bringing together diverse perspectives and backgrounds fuels creativity in designs, resulting in new ideas to explore and more opportunities to expand the industry.

“We want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to Washington State’s Office of Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises (OMWBE) for its unwavering support and encouragement,” Tarelle continued. “Osborn Consulting’s success is a reflection of the program’s effectiveness, and we are excited to continue working alongside other DBE and WMBE firms, contributing to the vibrant landscape of our industry. We look forward to continuing our journey and embracing new opportunities in our industry.”

Thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey. We are excited about what the future holds and are committed to making a positive impact in our communities. Stay tuned for more updates on our projects and collaborations!
