On Wednesday, June 15th, OCI team members volunteered their evening sorting and packing food at Food Lifeline in Seattle. There they received the grand tour of the beautiful new Food Lifeline facility in South Park, including a quick run through the freezer room, and then began putting together snack packs for kids on free or reduced lunch programs in school. Over the course of a couple hours they packed over 1,248 lbs. of food, creating 702 meals for the hungry youth in Western Washington. It turns out engineers can make quite the efficient assembly line (and have a lot of fun while they’re at it!).
