From mid-March through mid-May of this year, OCI staff were in the field, mapping and verifying stormwater outfalls, discharge points, connections, and drainage features along highways in WSDOT’s Northwest Region. WSDOT’s 2014 NPDES General Stormwater Permit, issued through the Department of Ecology, requires WSDOT to map its stormwater conveyance systems. Stormwater conveyance systems consist of a network of drainage inlets, pipes, ditches, stormwater treatment and flow control facilities, and other structures that direct and manage stormwater. At the end of the field work, Jana Hindman (OCI Project Engineer) was recognized for her perfect attendance on the stormwater feature inventory project. Jana spent most of her time in the field collecting data on segments of Highway 99, Highway 525, and Highway 2. Great work Jana!
