Victor Steinbrueck Park

Victor Steinbrueck Park, adjacent to Pike Place Market, underwent a major renovation to replace a failing waterproofing membrane over a privately owned garage. Osborn led civil engineering design from schematic design through final design phases, including temporary erosion and sediment control, utility demolition, storm drainage, grading, and utilities. The improved stormwater system includes footing drains and trench drains that interface with the replaced waterproofing membrane. Osborn collaborated with the City of Seattle and architect-led design team to deliver a constructible, low-maintenance solution. Despite delays and permitting challenges, the revitalized 0.79-acre park features improved lighting, renovated seating, reimagined play areas, and a specialized lawn system designed for longevity and performance. Designed with a strong emphasis on community, safety, and accessibility, the park offers a renewed space for public enjoyment in downtown Seattle.
