Yarrow Creek Tributary Fish Barrier Removal

Osborn Consulting was the lead designer for this project to remove barriers to fish passage, including a no longer operational access road embankment and degraded corrugated metal culvert located in the City’s greenbelt. Concrete support structures and casing were constructed to protect the existing sewer and water main crossings that were previously encased within the embankment. The team developed the design to regrade and restore the stream channel with bioengineered bank stabilization techniques to improve habitat function and sediment transport while reducing channel incision and bank erosion. Other responsibilities included the planning and development of PS&E documents and preparation of the permitting documentation for all necessary federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.
