NE 192nd Street Culvert
Osborn has provided surface water engineering and professional services to the City of Kenmore since 2013 and works collaboratively with City staff to quickly respond to task order requests, such as the NE 192nd St Culvert. Osborn led the alternatives analysis, design, and preparation of the construction documents (PS&E) for a 60-foot long, 14-foot wide by seven-foot-tall bottomless precast culvert for Little Swamp Creek at the NE 192nd Street crossing. The new culvert relieves persistent flooding and was designed using the stream simulation method to meet WDFW fish passage standards. The project included fish-passable culvert design; hydrologic and hydraulic analysis; in-channel grading; franchise and district utility relocations; water and sanitary sewer encasement; restoration planting; permit coordination with WDFW, USACE, and the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe; and raising the roadway to provide adequate protection of the culvert.
