Interim Off-Gate Deicing Project

In response to air traffic delays caused by deicing aircraft, two off-gate remote deicing locations were designed for the Port of Seattle. Osborn Consulting led the drainage design for the project, providing design for the Industrial Wastewater System (IWS) and storm drainage system to support the new cross-over taxiway and collection of deicing operations runoff. Our team prepared a Stormwater Site Plan Report to incorporate the modified and new stormwater and IWS infrastructure per the Port’s minimum requirements template. Due to multiple utility conflicts, innovative approaches were required to ensure the stability of shallow proposed IWS pipes and provide minimal clearance between existing utilities and proposed drainage infrastructure.
